May 1998 Volume 21,
Issue 5 Introduction
Welcome to the Fifth issue
of this years Draught Notice. I hope you like what we
have for you this month. Much time and effort went into
writing the articles and the authors should be applauded
for their hard work in keeping the Draught Notice an
entertaining newsletter.
For those of you who
haven't yet had the time to contribute to the newsletter
this year, let me urge you to do so now. The Draught
Board is a volunteer organization and is only as good as
the members who participate in it. So send me those
articles. You know who you are!
Here is a quick synopsis
of this months newsletter:
April Meeting notes. by
Lisa Gros
Here's what you missed
if you didn't make it. Lisa also discusses some of
the club business items that need to be addressed
like the upcoming Brew-In and picnic.
Competition
Corner by Bryan Gros
In this months column,
Bryan discusses how well we met our goals for this
years BABO competition and what the competition is
all about to the club as a whole. There is also a
list of upcoming competitions you should keep and eye
out for to enter.
Beer
and Food Pairing by Lisa
Gros
Article to be placed
on Sunday or Monday. Details forthcoming.
Awards
A new area to trumpet
the achievements of the club members in local
competition and beer events.
The
.08 debate by Lee Carpenter
A street cop tells his
view of the DUI debate. His advice and comments ring
with wisdom rather than the rhetoric you usually hear
on how to avoid DUI.
The
S.F. Brewpub Crawl 98 by
Lisa Gros & M Wood
Here is a quick review
of some of the brewpubs and beers we visited on April
25 via mass transit. Included is Magnolia, Golden
Gate and Beach Chalet.
Homebrewing
History by Ken Koupal
Just in time for the
Brew-In, our club historian writes a great article
about the homebrewing laws that we all hold so dear.
I hope you enjoy!
