The Fresno club is looking for judges for the upcoming AHA West Coast Regionals. Anyone who has some experience judging would be welcome, even if you are not in the BJCP. Last year we had about 500 entries to judge. The competition is April 26,27,28 at Cal State Fresno in a special room designed for tasting. You can come on just one day or two, or all three if you like. Call Tom Pope (209) 276-3682 for more information.

The Toronado is putting on their annual Barleywine Festival Feb 11-17. They expect to have over 30 barley wines on tap. The beers will be judged on Feb 11 starting at 9:30AM.

1996 Queen of Beer Women's Homebrew Competition will be held in Placerville, CA, this March. This AHA Sanctioned competition is open to all women homebrewers for all home-made beer and mead. The competition also includes label categories for both hand-drawn and machine produced labels. Judging will begin March 10, with final round and Best of Show judging on March 16th. All beer and label entries must be received between February 10 and March 6, 1996. Bay Area Mashers are proud to present the 2nd Annual World Cup of Beer Homebrew Competition. The deadline for receiving entries is March 9, 1996; final judging will be conducted March 24, at Ti Bacio Ristorante in Oakland.
