John and Ann Pyles hosted our last event of the year. The holiday party was a great success! Thank you so very much for having us all over. Here are a few pictures to remember the day. Sorry the pictures didn't come out better but the camera is picky at low light. Only a dozen or so members but a lot of fun. I tried to document the trip but ran out of light at Tornado. In March we were able to take a friendly tour of our local distiller in Alameda, St. George Distillery. Special thanks to Lance for giving us a first class visit Each year we get together and simultaneuosly brew batches of beer. Its a celebration of National Homebrew Day in May and I can't think of a better way to spend it. Whether you've been brewing forever or are just learning, it's a lot of fun and very informative. Our Summer Picnic. Time to relax and share the brew on the grass. This year we were out for the "blues" and sun in Danville. Good beer and food were had by many. Each year, The staff at Anchor Steam Brewing Company invites the winner of their "Homebrew Club of the Year" to a steak and beer party. An informal setting with lots of friends and acquaintances. While we didn't win last year, we got several invites out of hospitality. Thanks Fritz. National Bay Area Brew Off (BABO) The Draught Board hosts the Bay Area Brew Off each year. This years competition was held at the Hop Yard Ale House & Grill, 3015-H Hopyard Road in Pleasanton, Calif. The date of the competition was February 1st, 1997.
